OPTIMALKAN CAKUPAN IMUNISASI DASAR LENGKAP MELALUI EDUKASI KEPADA IBU BAYI DI DESA TEMBUNG

Complete basic immunisation is a key public health intervention to prevent infectious diseases in infants. However, immunisation coverage remains suboptimal, particularly due to limited maternal knowledge and negative perceptions. This study aimed to assess the effect of health education on mothers’ attitudes toward complete basic immunisation in Tembung Village, Deli Serdang Regency. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed, involving 20 mothers with infants, purposively selected from three hamlets with low immunisation coverage. The intervention consisted of interactive health education addressing the benefits, schedule, and common post-immunisation reactions. Maternal attitudes were measured using structured questionnaires before and after the intervention and analysed descriptively. The results demonstrated an improvement in positive attitudes across all indicators following education, including acceptance of immunisation despite concerns about side effects and access barriers. These findings indicate that community-based health education effectively enhances maternal acceptance of immunisation. Nevertheless, short-term evaluation may be subject to social desirability bias, underscoring the need for sustained, repeated educational interventions.

Cocoa plantations face a number of complex and interrelated challenges. Several critical problems threatening the sustainability of cocoa farming include declining productivity due to pest infestations, inefficiencies in the management of cocoa pod husk waste, weak adoption of agronomic practices such as pruning and sanitation, and the occurrence of land degradation caused by decreasing soil organic matter content. The activities conducted included training on the production of liquid organic fertilizer from Gamal (Gliricidia sepium) leaves, instruction on proper pruning and plantation sanitation techniques, processing cocoa pod husk waste into compost, and the creation of IoT-based biopori (absorption holes). The implementation results demonstrated a significant increase in farmers' knowledge and skills, particularly in the aspects of plantation sanitation and the techniques for making organic fertilizers and pesticides from Gamal leaves. Program evaluation revealed a marked improvement in understanding: the category for 'basic knowledge' increased from 16.80 percent to 44.00 percent, and the 'comprehensive knowledge' category rose from 0.07 percent to 36.41 percent. Conversely, the 'no knowledge' category decreased from 48.40 percent to 12.33 percent. The implication of this community service project is that the empowerment program was effective in enhancing farmers' comprehension and encouraging the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.

A systematic mentoring relevant to the demands of mathematics olympiads based on reasoning. The purpose of this activity is to enhance students’ reasoning abilities, develop a cotextualized olympiad learning module, and strengthen the competencies of teacher coaches. The implementation method uses a participatory-educative approach, actively engaging both students and teachers at every stage of the activities. The activities consisted of training, simulated, and competitive motivation sessions based role models. Evaluation was conducted throught pre test and post test, observation, and perception survey. The result show that there were an increase inthe average score of student’s reasoning by 52% and the accuracy rate of answers increases from 47,8% to 82,5%. This improvements were supported by mentoring strategy used, which includes habituation of a gradual approach, pattern identification, and the application of systematic critical thinking logic. Qualitative results futher indicated that 85% of student reported greather confidence and 90% benefited simulation question. The learning module proved effective in assisting teachers to improve their mentoring techniques and facilitating students’ understanding of the material. The growth of intrinsic motivation shows that 70% of student are motivated to participate in similar competitions in the future. These findings confirm that directed mentoring based on logical exercises and reflection is effective not only in improving student’s readiness to face olympiads but also has potential to bulid a culture of critical learning and independent coaching in schools.

PELATIHAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN DIGITAL UNTUK GURU PAUD DI KABUPATEN DONGGALA

Early childhood learning media is very important to be prepared by teachers before learning activities begin. Without learning media as an introduction or intermediary, ongoing learning will not be interesting. The use of technology will make it very easy for teachers to prepare practical and interesting digital-based learning media. Creating digital-based learning media will allow teachers to be creative and innovate with various applications and devices provided by information technology. Learning or media created by utilizing digital-based learning provides a new revolution for teachers in the learning methods used. The digital media used include PowerPoint, Prezi, Canva, CapCut, and the Kahoot and Quizizz apps, making learning more enjoyable. Regular use of digital media can improve learning quality, as students become accustomed to learning in a more engaging, active, and independent manner. Furthermore, this method helps students develop 21st-century skills such as digital literacy, critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. This also makes it easier for teachers to assess, provide feedback, and adapt teaching methods to meet students' needs. The results of community service found a significant increase in teacher knowledge and skills with an average pre-test score of 61 and an average post-test score of 83. This activity succeeded in increasing teacher competence in preparing the learning process.

PEMBERDAYAAN PENGAJAR DALAM MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI KESEHATAN MENTAL DAN GIZI SEIMBANG PADA SANTRI DI PONDOK PESANTREN AL AMALUL KHAIR

Adolescent students in Islamic boarding schools are vulnerable to nutritional and mental health problems due to unbalanced diets, academic pressure, and limited health services. This community service aimed to enhance teachers’ and food handlers’ understanding of balanced nutrition and mental health at Al Amalul Khair Islamic Boarding School, Palembang. The program employed interactive lectures, healthy product demonstrations, and basic counseling training. Evaluation was conducted through pre- and post-tests to measure knowledge improvement and direct observation of skills. Results indicated a significant increase in teachers’ knowledge (from 58.3% to 84.7%, p<0.05), improved skills in preparing nutritious products, and the establishment of a Health Team and teacher counselors. In conclusion, integrating nutrition education, healthy food innovation, and psychosocial support effectively strengthened teachers’ capacity and provided a replicable model for other schools.

The Community Service Program aims to implement a lemang roasting tool at IRT Lemang Cik Okot. Assistance is provided to make it easier to cook lemang in a shorter time before using the roasting tool. This is done to reduce the risk of burns or direct exposure to lemang roasting smoke during the cooking process. Traditionally, the lemang baking process has been relatively long and requires flipping the lemang every 15 minutes by hand to ensure even cooking. This assistance is provided to speed up the lemang baking process and reduce the risk of burns or hot hands when flipping the lemang. The results of this assistance show that the lemang baking tool is effective for baking lemang and speeds up the cooking process.

UPAYA PENINGKATAN KUALITAS MANAJEMEN HIDUP DAN PENCEGAHAN PENYAKIT DEGENERATIF DI SEKOLAH LANSIA MELATI

The Melati Elderly School in Koto Tinggi Village was established as a form of non-formal education aimed at improving the quality of life of the elderly through the seven dimensions of resilient aging, which include spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, social, vocational, and environmental aspects. This Community Service Program (PKM) seeks to promote healthy lifestyle management and prevent degenerative diseases among elderly students. The implementation methods included the development of the “Elderly Fitness Information System” website as a health monitoring tool, health awareness campaigns, elderly exercise sessions, as well as health check-ups and consultations. The program involved 27 elderly students with the support of medical staff and educators. The results demonstrated an increase in elderly participants’ knowledge about healthy living, greater involvement in physical exercise, and the availability of a simple technology-based tool for continuous health monitoring. This initiative has contributed to the realization of elderly individuals who are healthy, independent, active, productive, and dignified. Therefore, this PKM program is considered effective in enhancing quality of life while preventing degenerative diseases among the elderly.

PEMBERDAYAAN LITERASI KEUANGAN DAN PENTINGNYA MENABUNG BAGI SISWA DI SDN 02 PAMPANGAN

The level of financial literacy in Indonesia is still relatively low, especially among young children, so educational efforts are needed to instill a basic understanding of wise financial management. This community service activity aims to improve the financial literacy of elementary school students through education on the importance of saving. The activity was carried out at SDN 02 Pampangan with the involvement of 78 students in grades 4, 5, and 6. The implementation method used an educational and participatory approach, in the form of interactive material delivery, a "Mini Store" simulation, quizzes, and practice making piggy banks from used materials. The results of the activity showed that the results of observations and a brief post-activity evaluation showed that the majority of students had understood the material presented. Approximately 85% of students were able to re-explain the importance of saving and its benefits for daily life. As many as 90% of students were also able to clearly differentiate between needs and wants, and understand how to manage pocket money simply. The majority of students understood basic financial concepts such as the difference between needs and wants, the importance of saving, and how to manage pocket money simply. The response from students and teachers was very positive, with the school continuing its initiative to implement the "Savings Day" program regularly. This activity has successfully made a real contribution in building healthy financial habits from an early age, and has shown that a contextual educational approach is effective in improving children's financial literacy.

SOSIALISASI NANOEMULGEL ANTIBAKTERI KOMBINASI EKSTRAK TEMULAWAK DAN TEMUPUTIH UNTUK MENGATASI INFEKSI MRSA DI DESA PAYAMABAR

Infections caused by Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) remain a major health concern due to their resistance to commonly used antibiotics, driving interest in safe and effective natural-based alternatives. This community service program introduced an antibacterial nanoemulgel formulated from combined extracts of Curcuma xanthorrhiza (temulawak) and Curcuma zedoaria (temu putih) to residents of Paya Mabar Village, Stabat District, Langkat Regency. The activities included interactive education on the dangers of bacterial resistance, a demonstration of nanoemulgel preparation, and small group discussions to explore participants’ understanding of modern herbal-based treatments. Community members showed strong enthusiasm, reflected in active participation and improved awareness of antibiotic resistance and the potential of local medicinal plants. The outcomes indicated that a combined educational and hands-on approach effectively enhanced public knowledge of infection prevention and encouraged appreciation for natural ingredients as innovative health solutions. The community recognized nanoemulgel as a bridge between traditional wisdom and modern pharmaceutical technology.

IMPLEMENTASI TEKNOLOGI TEPAT GUNA SOLAR DYER HOUSE DAN PENINGKATAN MUTU DAN NILAI TAMBAH KOPI RAKYAT DI DESA SUANAE

Suanae Village, North Central Timor Regency, is one of the centers of smallholder coffee farming with great potential for coffee agribusiness development. However, the post-harvest process of coffee in this village still faces various obstacles, especially in drying coffee beans and utilizing coffee husk waste. This community service research aims to improve the quality and added value of smallholder coffee through the implementation of appropriate technology, namely Solar Dryer Houses (SDH) and the processing of coffee husk waste into organic fertilizer. The activity methods use a participatory and collaborative approach, including socialization, training, mentoring, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The results of the activities show an average increase of 80% in farmers' knowledge and skills, a reduction in coffee bean drying time from 7-10 days to 3-5 days, and an increase in the selling price of dried coffee by 10-15% which was previously purchased at an estimated price by collectors of 30,000, but with the solar dyer house technology, coffee farmers hope to get a price of more than Rp. 39,000. In addition, coffee husk waste is utilized as solid organic fertilizer that supports sustainable agriculture and opens up additional business opportunities for the community. The implementation of this technology emphasizes the importance of local-based innovation to increase productivity, product quality, and community empowerment in rural areas.

PENINGKATAN SIKAP PEDULI LINGKUNGAN MELALUI EDUKASI BIOPLASTIK UNTUK MENGURANGI SAMPAH PLASTIK DI DESA LAMPOH SIRONG

The problem of plastic waste remains a serious environmental issue due to its difficult-to-decompose nature and potential to pollute soil, water, and ecosystems. Low public awareness of the dangers of conventional plastic is one of the causes of the increasing volume of plastic waste in the environment, including in Lampoh Sirong Village, Mutiara District, Pidie Regency. This community service activity aims to increase environmental awareness among the community through an understanding of bioplastics as an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional plastics. The implementation method includes outreach, interactive discussions, and demonstrations of making simple bioplastics from cassava starch. Evaluation was carried out through observation and the distribution of questionnaires before and after the activity to assess the increase in participants' understanding and attitudes towards the importance of protecting the environment. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in public knowledge and awareness regarding the impact of plastic on the environment, increase in participant understanding reached 89,5% as well as the emergence of community initiatives to reduce the use of single-use plastics. Thus, this activity contributes positively to building environmentally conscious behavior.

PENGEMBANGAN KOMPETENSI GURU ABAD 21 MELALUI PELATIHAN PEMBELAJARAN DEEP LEARNING DI SD LABSCHOOL UNNES

Labschool UNNES, as a laboratory school within a teacher education institution, holds a strategic position in fostering innovative instructional practices. However, teachers’ understanding of meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning strategies within a deep learning pedagogical framework remains limited, indicating the need for targeted capacity building. This training program was designed to strengthen teachers’ competencies in implementing deep learning–oriented instruction aligned with 21st-century learning demands. The program comprised interactive training sessions, structured group discussions, and guided mentoring involving teachers from SD Labschool UNNES. Data were analyzed descriptively using a participant satisfaction survey. Findings demonstrate a marked improvement in teachers’ conceptual understanding of deep learning and their ability to design innovative instructional activities. Participants expressed highly positive evaluations of the program’s content relevance, delivery clarity, and opportunities for active engagement. Furthermore, 56.5% of participants reported the highest level of willingness to engage in subsequent collaborative initiatives. These outcomes indicate that the training not only enhanced teachers’ pedagogical literacy but also fostered motivation to apply deep learning practices in classroom settings. The program contributed to strengthening teachers’ readiness to implement meaningful, reflective, and student-centered learning experiences, while also providing a foundation for sustained development through continued mentoring and institutional collaboration.

PELATIHAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS AI UNTUK GURU PENDIDIKAN PANCASILA DI SMPN KABUPATEN MOJOKERTO: INISIATIF PENGABDIAN KEPADA MASYARAKAT

Rapid technological developments have had a significant impact on the learning process, particularly in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching practices. This study aimed to provide training to Pancasila Education teachers at Mojokerto State Junior High School on the creation of AI-based learning media. The goal was to empower teachers to effectively utilize AI tools to develop interactive and innovative learning content. The program, implemented by a team from Surabaya State University (UNESA), included theoretical and practical sessions focusing on AI platforms such as Canva AI, ChatGPT, and Bing Image Creator. The training aimed to improve teachers' competency in the digital transformation of Pancasila Education, while considering learner privacy and security. Feedback from participants indicated significant improvements in their skills and motivation to implement AI in the classroom, highlighting the importance of this type of training in fostering a more inclusive and innovative educational environment. The social impact of this training is seen in the increased ability of teachers to provide learning experiences that are more relevant to the needs of students in the 21st century, while supporting more inclusive learning, preparing students to face global challenges and future technologies.

SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION AND LICENSING DEVELOPMENT OF COCONUT SHELL PYROLYSIS-BASED LIQUID SMOKE HOME INDUSTRY

Most residents of Manunggal Village, Labuhan Deli District, Deli Serdang Regency work in the industrial sector as employees or self-employed workers. The village has a small-scale home industry producing charcoal briquettes from coconut fiber, but it previously lacked formal licensing. The decline in briquette production alongside increasing market demand encouraged the community to shift toward liquid smoke production. This study aims to develop a legally recognized coconut-fiber–based liquid smoke home industry with enhanced production capacity. The methods included designing a pyrolysis device capable of producing liquid smoke at 650 °C for eight hours and obtaining a business license through UD Keluarga (License No. 2009240083095, 2024). The results showed increased liquid smoke output and successful legalization of the home industry, providing significant benefits to the community and supporting family economic improvement. Developing a licensed liquid smoke home industry using pyrolysis is an effective strategy to improve productivity and community welfare in Manunggal Village.

COMMUNITY-BASED PRODUCTION OF LIQUID SMOKE AS A NON-CARCINOGENIC FISH PRESERVATIVE

The growing demand for safe fish preservatives has encouraged the use of liquid smoke as an alternative to high-temperature processing, which may form carcinogenic compounds. This community service program focused on producing coconut-shell-based liquid smoke through pyrolysis followed by distillation to obtain grade-2 liquid smoke. Acetic acid content was determined using alkalimetry with 0.1 N NaOH. The results showed an increase in acetic acid concentration from 1% to 6.5%, meeting the grade-2 standard of SNI 8985:2021. Application through 20-minute immersion preserved fish quality for up to three days without generating carcinogenic properties. Beyond product development, the program strengthened local socio-economic conditions by providing training, empowering residents to produce liquid smoke independently, and opening new micro-enterprise opportunities. This demonstrates that community-based production can supply safe, standardized preservatives while enhancing economic resilience in Manunggal Village.

MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN KOMUNIKASI LINTAS BUDAYA MELALUI DRAMA: PENDEKATAN BUDAYA MELAYU DAN INGGRIS DI SMAN 2 RAMBAH HILIR

This community service program aimed to enhance students’ intercultural communication skills through drama training based on Malay and English cultural elements at SMAN 2 Rambah Hilir, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The initiative was motivated by the students’ limited English-speaking abilities and the lack of cultural integration in language learning. The implementation employed a participatory and collaborative approach consisting of three main stages: (1) preparation and module development, (2) cultural workshops and training, and (3) intercultural drama performances. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ communication skills, confidence, and intercultural awareness. The drama performance served as an effective and enjoyable learning medium while strengthening students’ appreciation of local Malay cultural identity. Additionally, the program produced a training module that can be utilized by teachers for sustainable learning. Thus, this activity proves that integrating arts, culture, and language in education can effectively foster the development of Pancasila Student Profiles who are creative and globally minded.

PENDAMPINGAN PENYUSUNAN STANDAR OPERASIONAL PROSEDUR (SOP) SIMPAN PINJAM UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PROFESIONALISME PADA KSU PUSPA SARI SEDANA MELALUI PROGRAM MBKM

The Independent Learning Independent Campus Internship Program (MBKM) provides contextual learning spaces for students through direct involvement in partner organizations. This activity was carried out at the Puspa Sari Sedana Business Savings Cooperative (KSU), West Nusa Tenggara, which is the main operation in the field of member financing services. KSU Puspa Sari Sedana has been established since 2007. Even though it has been established for 18 years, this cooperative still operates very simply and the main focus of the cooperative's activities is currently fixed on savings and loan activities and most of the managerial and recording processes that occur in it are still carried out manually and the cooperative does not have a recorded SOP that can be used. Through the MBKM facilitation activities, the team developed savings and loan SOPs based on the results of participatory observations, interviews, and document studies conducted within the cooperative. With the establishment of documented savings and loan SOPs, it is expected that there will be clear guidelines for operational implementation at KSU Puspa Sari Sedana, enabling processes to become more systematic and well-structured, reducing recording errors, and enhancing transparency and accountability in the cooperative’s management.

SOSIALISASI PEMANFAATAN BUAH NANAS SEBAGAI PROBIOTIK BAGI ANAK REMAJA DISEKOLAH SMA BATUBARA

Pineapples (Ananas comosus) contain fiber, water, natural carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins, and the enzyme bromelain. This community service activity aimed to educate 50 students of Batubara High School (SMA Batubara) about the use of pineapple as a natural probiotic source. The program aimed to increase their knowledge and raise awareness about reducing their consumption of unhealthy foods and fast food, thus promoting a healthy digestive system. This program utilized participatory and educational methods. Prior to the presentation, the Tjut Nyak Dhien University community service team evaluated the program using pretests and posttests. The purpose of the pretest was to measure the extent of knowledge of grade X and XI students regarding the use of pineapple as a probiotic. Then, after the presenter delivered the material using power point and infocus media, he conducted a demonstration and showed probiotics that could be used immediately. The community service team conducted a posttest to see the extent of the increase in participants' understanding from the socialization provided. The results of this socialization activity showed a significant increase in (1) the assessment category of attitudes and awareness of digestive health where the pretest value had an average value of 35% and the posttest was 90%; (2) the assessment category of the content and benefits of pineapple increased by 80% with a pretest value of 30% (3) the probiotic assessment category also increased by 85% with a pretest value of 25% (4) the probiotic assessment category from pineapple increased by 87% with a pretest value of 30%. This outreach program is expected to not only increase students' understanding of probiotics but also foster sustainable healthy lifestyle habits among adolescents, as the fermentation process promotes healthy digestion, especially for those who frequently consume unhealthy foods.

EFEKTIVITAS ASAP CAIR DARI PIROLISIS TEMPURUNG KELAPA SEBAGAI PESTISIDA ORGANIK DALAM PENGENDALIAN HAMA PADA TANAMAN HIDROPONIK DI KELURAHAN TERJUN, KECAMATAN MEDAN MARELAN

Hydroponic cultivation is increasingly popular in urban areas due to its efficiency and hygiene. However, pest attacks remain a major obstacle, often addressed by the use of chemical pesticides. Long-term use of chemical pesticides negatively impacts health, and in hydroponic farming, they can leave harmful residues and negatively impact the environment. Utilizing coconut shell waste as an organic pesticide is an innovation that supports environmentally friendly agriculture. This program aims to use liquid smoke produced from the pyrolysis process of coconut shells as an organic pesticide to control pests in hydroponic plants in Terjun Village, Medan Marelan District. The activity stages are carried out using participatory and educational methods, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage includes site surveys, coordination with partners, and preparation of educational materials and leaflets. During the implementation stage, socialization, demonstrations of organic pesticide application in the form of liquid smoke, and distribution of leaflets are conducted. The evaluation stage was conducted through a questionnaire test before and after the activity (pre-test and post-test) to assess the increase in participants' understanding. The final evaluation results showed an average increase in participants' knowledge of 32.6%, from a pre-test score of 62.4% to a post-test score of 95.0%. The highest increase occurred in the understanding of liquid smoke and its functions by (+ 43%), followed by an increase in the aspect of knowledge about organic pesticides by (+ 40%) and interest in using liquid smoke by (+ 35%).

Breast milk blockage is a common problem faced by new mothers. This problem occurs due to narrowing of the lactiferous ducts in the mother's breasts and can occur if the mother has abnormalities in her nipples, such as flat or inverted nipples. This condition is generally caused by a buildup of milk that is not immediately expressed, resulting in blockage. To prevent breast milk blockage, mothers need to take care of their breasts. This activity aims to address problems that occur in the breasts of postpartum mothers and train them in breast care during the postpartum period. This community service activity is intended for postpartum mothers who experience milk blockage, with the aim of overcoming the problems faced by postpartum mothers and training them in breast care during the postpartum period. The activities were carried out using lectures, discussions, and practical demonstrations, followed by follow-up support to ensure the sustainability of the program. In general, this community service program was successful thanks to the support of several parties, including the village and the community health center, in the implementation of these activities. The conclusion of the community service activity on breast care for milk blockage in postpartum mothers at the Teratai Posyandu in the Tambusai Health Center working area went well and received high enthusiasm from the activity participants. 100% of the participants were able to understand the material that was presented, and the training participants were able to demonstrate breast care actions. It is recommended that this socialization activity on breast care be conducted periodically and continuously, considering that there are still many cases of postpartum mothers experiencing breast milk blockage who consume medications containing chemical substances.

The increasing volume of household and industrial organic waste has become a pressing environmental issue, necessitating innovative and sustainable management solutions. This community service aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of the Damai Women Farmers Group in Noelbaki Village in processing fruit peel waste into an eco-enzyme. The program employed a participatory approach, integrating socialization, training, and hands-on practice. The population and sample consisted of all 30 active group members. Data were collected using observation sheets, pre-test and post-test questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively both quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding and ability to produce eco-enzyme, as evidenced by increased post-test scores and active engagement during practice. In conclusion, the participatory training model effectively empowered the community to manage organic waste sustainably, and its replication in other communities is highly recommended.

This article aims to describe a village community empowerment program through increasing the capacity of MSMEs and implementing digital technology in business operations. The approach used is a community-based participatory approach, including digital literacy training, managerial mentoring, and the implementation of digital technology in production, marketing, and business management processes. This program aims to create an independent digital economic ecosystem at the village level by strengthening the capacity of MSME actors and the sustainable use of digital technology. Expected outcomes from the implementation of this program include improving MSME digital competence, business operational efficiency, expanding market access, and strengthening the economic independence of rural communities. With this program, rural communities are expected to be able to adapt to the dynamics of the digital economy and encourage inclusive and sustainable village economic development.

This program is implemented through an integrated mentoring approach that includes digital literacy training, supply chain optimization, product quality improvement, and the development of digital platform-based marketing strategies. The expected results of this program are an increased understanding of MSMEs regarding modern business management, production process efficiency, and the ability to utilize digital technology to expand marketing reach. Furthermore, this program is designed to have a long-term impact on the sustainability of cashew nut MSME businesses. This capability improvement is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs, not only at the local and regional levels, but also in facing national and global market opportunities. The integration of digital technology into the learning process aims to establish an educational system that is more efficient, flexible, and responsive to contemporary demands. Within this digital landscape, online examinations represent a practical alternative that offers numerous advantages over conventional assessment methods. For educators, online assessments facilitate more structured and efficient test development, enable the use of randomized question features to reduce academic dishonesty, support automated grading, and provide real-time feedback. Moreover, the implementation of online evaluation methods can be enhanced through gamification to create more engaging learning experiences. Quizizz, a game-based educational platform, brings multiplayer interaction into the classroom and offers enjoyable, interactive learning activities. Its features—including avatars, themes, memes, and music—contribute to a more appealing assessment environment. SMA Petra Sawang Jauh has faced challenges in adopting gamified online examinations, particularly due to limited teacher proficiency in using Quizizz. To address this issue, the community service team conducted mentoring sessions aimed at strengthening teachers’ competencies. Evaluation results indicate that participating teachers successfully created Quizizz accounts and demonstrated the ability to design and manage online assessments aligned with their respective subjects. Furthermore, the teachers showed measurable improvement in their capacity to utilize and implement gamified online examinations through the Quizizz platform. With the improvement of teachers’ abilities and understanding at SMA Petra Sawang Jauh, the implementation of learning evaluations using Quizizz can be effectively applied in the school. This approach enables the evaluation process to become more transparent, efficient, and effective.

ENHANCING CHARCOAL BRIQUETTE PRODUCTION USING COCONUT SHELLS AND CORNCOBS IN MANUNGGAL VILLAGE

The utilization of coconut shells as charcoal briquettes holds significant economic potential; however, communities in Manunggal Village continue to produce low-value charcoal flakes. This community engagement program aimed to enhance local skills in processing coconut shells and corncobs into value-added briquettes. A practice-based training involving 30 participants covered carbonization, grinding, binder mixing, molding, and drying. Evaluation results indicated an 82% improvement in participants’ understanding based on pretest–posttest assessments. The resulting briquettes met the SNI 01-6235-2000 standards, with moisture content of 5%, ash 4.5%, volatile matter 13.3%, fixed carbon 79.4%, and a calorific value of 6,153 cal/g. This program demonstrates potential to increase household income through product diversification and to promote environmental sustainability by enabling productive utilization of biomass waste.

MICROBIOLOGICAL QUALITY AND SAFETY ASSESSMENT OF MINIMALLY PROCESSED FRUITS SOLD IN KLANG VALLEY, MALAYSIA

Minimally processed fruits are increasingly popular in the Klang Valley, Malaysia, but remain vulnerable to microbial contamination during processing and packaging. This study evaluated the microbiological quality of 20 types of minimally processed fruits based on Total Plate Count (TPC), yeast and mold (YM), coliforms, and Staphylococcus aureus. Samples were randomly collected from local markets, including those packaged in plastic and sealed packs, and analyzed using standard microbiological procedures. The results revealed notable variations in microbial contamination, with fruits packaged in sealed packs showing lower contamination levels than those in plastic packaging. The highest TPC was observed in papaya, while the lowest was found in bananas; coliforms and S. aureus were detected in several samples. These findings highlight the critical role of packaging methods in reducing microbiological risks and can inform the development of more hygienic packaging policies, as well as improve consumer and vendor awareness of safe handling practices.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease primarily affecting the lungs and remains the leading cause of infectious death worldwide. It spreads through droplets when an infected person coughs or speaks, and if untreated, it can lead to severe complications. Indonesia has a high TB burden, with cases expected to rise by 2023. The low public awareness, particularly in areas with limited information access, contributes to the high incidence and treatment failures. Health education is an essential strategy to increase understanding of early detection, prevention, and treatment of TB. Community service activities, such as providing TB education at SMA Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru, are crucial to support TB prevention efforts. The purpose of this activity, held on October 29, 2025, was to increase students' knowledge, raise awareness about the risks and impacts of TB, and teach preventive measures. The event involved five lecturers, two students, and 30 student participants. It included lectures, discussions, and enforcement of coughing/sneezing etiquette, allowing students to practice proper etiquette. The success of the activity was measured through pre- and post-test questions to evaluate the increase in participants' knowledge and practical skills. The results showed a significant improvement in students' understanding of TB prevention, with the highest pre-test score being 66 and the highest post-test score reaching 90. Feedback from the students confirmed their increased awareness. This educational activity effectively contributed to TB prevention by promoting proper coughing etiquette, strengthening both school and community-based prevention efforts.

This community service activity aims to improve the digital capabilities of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ngablak Village, Srumbung District, Magelang Regency by utilizing digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The program is implemented in three main stages: an introduction to MSME digitalization, an introduction to AI technology, and training in AI-based digital content creation. In the first stage, participants are taught how to create a Google Maps account and an e-commerce store to boldly expand their market. The second stage discusses the basic concepts and applications of AI in small businesses, such as the use of chatbots and various forms of AI-generated content. The final stage is training in digital content creation using AI platforms such as Canva AI, ChatGPT, and CapCut, which helps participants create promotional materials more quickly and creatively. The results show an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in using digital technology, as well as a heightened awareness of the importance of AI-based innovation in strengthening MSME competitiveness. This activity has had a positive impact on the readiness of MSMEs in Ngeablak Village to adapt to developments in the digital economy. This activity is expected to create a sustainable digital MSME base, ready to adapt to dynamic changes in the digital economy.

Marketing in an educational institution is very important. This can help prospective students in knowing what activities exist in a school. This community service program was carried out at MA Darul Ulum Muhammadiyah Galur Kulon Progo, as part of the social community service STEI Hamfara based on the project of students of the Hamfara Islamic College of Economics. This activity is designed to increase the capacity of teachers and school staff in utilizing digital media as a means of promotion in accordance with sharia values. In the midst of increasingly rapid technological developments, school marketing not only serves to introduce academic facilities and achievements, but also serves as a means of spreading Islamic values and identity. Therefore, teachers and school staff need to have an understanding of Islamic marketing strategies in order to be able to build a competitive school image while still being based on sharia principles. The training program was carried out in two sessions, namely an Islamic Digital Marketing training that discussed the concept of halal, ethical, and transparent marketing, and a workshop on using the Canva application to create school promotional materials. Through this program, participants not only understand the concept of Islamic marketing, but also have the skills to create promotional content independently with the Canva application, with sharia principles. The integration of Islamic values with technology is expected to strengthen the role of teachers and staff as drivers of professional and sustainable school branding.

Halal conscious behavior education is an important effort to increase awareness and vigilance in choosing halal products in daily life. Students of SMK Mandala Tiara Bangsa have limited knowledge regarding halal products such as food, beverages, cosmetics, and daily-use products. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge, awareness, willingness, and ability to apply halal-conscious behavior in daily life. The methods used included administering pre-test and post-test questionnaires as well as providing online counseling and training, through understanding of halal label and introductio of halal products. Fifty students participated in this program. The results showed a significant increase in students’ understanding of halal concepts, from 22% before counseling to 98% after the intervention. These results indicate that educational interventions can effectively strengthen halal awareness among students. This program is expected to contribute to the development of a halal-conscious younger generation and support the improvement of public health quality, and encouraging a sustainable and conscious habit of choosing and consuming halal products among the younger generation as a daily basis.

Community Service Activities for Salt Farmers to Increase Salt Production in Paluh Sibaji Village, Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra were carried out by providing assistance in the form of building evaporation houses and providing material assistance for repairing and building goat pens for salt farmers. The purpose of this activity is for salt farmers to increase their salt production capacity by increasing the speed and effectiveness of the production process. The method used is the construction method of a semi-elliptical evaporation house whose supports are made of elastic plastic pipes with iron reinforcements inside the pipe so that water vapor will flow through the pipes and plastic formed in a semi-elliptical construction. Community service activities were carried out by building an evaporation house for the salt production process. In addition, the community service team provided material assistance for the construction and repair of goat pens for salt farmers. Livestock farming for salt farmers is a common side business carried out by salt farmers to support household economic needs. The results of the activity were the construction of a semi-elliptical evaporation house that will be used by salt farmers to increase salt production and assistance to salt farmers in the form of material assistance for the construction and repair of salt farmer's livestock pens.

PENINGKATAN MUTU PENDIDIKAN TINGGI MELALUI SOSIALISASI DAN IMPLEMENTASI SPMI BERDASARKAN PERMENDIKBUDRISTEK NO. 53 TAHUN 2023

The issuance of Permendikbudristek Number 53 of 2023 marks a paradigm shift in higher education quality assurance from a compliance-based approach to an outcome-based approach. Although it provides greater flexibility and autonomy, this policy also poses challenges in the form of differences in regulatory interpretation, inconsistencies in standards, and the persistent perception that the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) is an administrative burden, especially for universities that are not yet ready to adapt. This community service activity aims to assist the Mitra Gama Institute of Technology (ITMG) in responding to the transition of quality assurance policies in a strategic and applicable manner. The implementation method used a Participatory Action Learning approach, which included an analysis of gaps in SPMI implementation, dissemination of policy perceptions, technical workshops on updating SPMI documents, and internal quality audit simulations to ensure the implementation of the PPEPP cycle. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the concept of output-based quality assurance. The percentage of participants who understood the difference between compliance-based and outcome-based approaches increased from 35% before the activity to 90% after the dissemination and workshop. In addition, the perception that the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) was an administrative burden decreased dramatically, from 65% before the activity to 10% after the activity. These findings were reinforced by the increased ability of the quality team to close the PPEPP cycle through the formulation of concrete and measurable corrective actions. Overall, this activity was effective in strengthening the foundation of an adaptive, outcome-oriented internal quality assurance system that supports continuous quality improvement at ITMG.
