Abstract

The integration of digital technology into the learning process aims to establish an educational system that is more efficient, flexible, and responsive to contemporary demands. Within this digital landscape, online examinations represent a practical alternative that offers numerous advantages over conventional assessment methods. For educators, online assessments facilitate more structured and efficient test development, enable the use of randomized question features to reduce academic dishonesty, support automated grading, and provide real-time feedback. Moreover, the implementation of online evaluation methods can be enhanced through gamification to create more engaging learning experiences. Quizizz, a game-based educational platform, brings multiplayer interaction into the classroom and offers enjoyable, interactive learning activities. Its features—including avatars, themes, memes, and music—contribute to a more appealing assessment environment. SMA Petra Sawang Jauh has faced challenges in adopting gamified online examinations, particularly due to limited teacher proficiency in using Quizizz. To address this issue, the community service team conducted mentoring sessions aimed at strengthening teachers’ competencies. Evaluation results indicate that participating teachers successfully created Quizizz accounts and demonstrated the ability to design and manage online assessments aligned with their respective subjects. Furthermore, the teachers showed measurable improvement in their capacity to utilize and implement gamified online examinations through the Quizizz platform. With the improvement of teachers’ abilities and understanding at SMA Petra Sawang Jauh, the implementation of learning evaluations using Quizizz can be effectively applied in the school. This approach enables the evaluation process to become more transparent, efficient, and effective.
